How we pick, and what we will not do

the boring page that makes the rest trustworthy

Far Found is a small guide to the things that make travel and working away from home easier. It is written for two readers at once: the person packing for a week off, and the person who works from a different city every month. Most guides serve both; where a pick changes between them, the note says so.

How a pick gets on a list

  • It solves a problem we can name in one sentence, for a reader we can describe in one sentence.
  • It has a trade-off we can write down. A product with no downside we could find is not on the list; it means we have not looked hard enough.
  • It is sold by a merchant we can link to directly. No marketplaces full of look-alikes.
  • It stays on the list only while it is in stock and current. Discontinued items come off the same week.

What we will not do

  • Invent a price, a rating, a stock level or a test result. A price appears only when we read it from the shop that day, and it says so.
  • Say "we use this" or "tested by us" unless it is true. Most picks are chosen from specifications, reviews across several sources and the trade-offs reported by people who own them.
  • Rank by commission. The order of a list is the order you pack, or the order a reader would consider them.
  • Link straight from a pin to a shop. Every pin lands on a guide first, so you can see the trade-off before you click through.

How the site is paid for

Some links are affiliate links. If you buy through one, the merchant pays Far Found a small commission and you pay the same price. That is the whole business model, and it is explained in full in the affiliate disclosure. If a link pays us, it carries an "Affiliate link" tag on the card.

Who writes this

Far Found is run by Lenka, who is Slovak and lives in Indonesia, with research and production help from AI tools. Lenka approves every guide and every pin before it goes out. Photos of real places on this site are hers; the illustrations are drawn and are never passed off as product photos.

Corrections

If a pick is wrong, discontinued or has a trade-off we missed, write to hello@farfoundtravel.com. Corrections are made within the week and noted on the guide.
